Bugzilla:Tutorial:Sorting bugs
Overview
This tutorial will show you an example way of cleaning recent bugs to improve the quality of the data in Bugzilla.
- Open http://bugzilla.mozilla.org
- Click on Bugs Filled Today link - it's a predefined search query that will show you bugs that has been filed today
- Look through the list of results for bugs from areas your most familiar with. The best ones are with status UNCO (from UNCOMMENTED) which means that no one yet decided what to do with them.
- Click on selected bug
- Verify if the bug report description is clear and explains the problem well. In other case ask reporter in a comment for clarification
- Verify that the bug is not a duplicate - are there any other bug reports extremely similar to this one?
- Verify the bug details - is the OS assigned properly? is the bug title proper? Is the severity anyhow sounds proper?
- Verify if the steps to reproduce are in fact reproducing the bug for you and write a comment.
- Verify if the user reported a bug testing it in a proper version of a product. (latest release or recent nightly build)
